Fenrir: Dawn Rising (Part 1)

Turning his head towards Luna, Ris really, really hoped she didn't hear what he just told Leo.

'If she asks, you were joking...You were just kidding around...'

"Not too much." he replied, forcing a smile. "You can ask her yourself, if you'd like."

After all, Terra wouldn't chew her own daughter out like that.

Luna crossed her arms, upset. "What happened to no more lies, Ris?" Her eyes narrowed at him.

Aetsia nodded and smiled, holding up one finger to Jackal. Before they went, she wanted to do something.

She closed her eyes, then leaned up and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She slowly pulled away, smiling happily at him before heading off to go find the others.

With a sheepish grin, Ris clarified, as if that would satisfy the lynx, "No more -serious- lies."

"You seemed pretty freaked out there. Sure this isn't serious?" Luna replied.

"Nothing that'll affect you, don't worry..."

'...Unless it involves any physical interaction...'

"How come you don't trust me, Ris?" Luna asked.

With a light sigh, followed by a quick twitch of his ears, Ris looked steadily into Luna's eyes. "I -do- trust you...I'm sure you'll learn what she said in due time..."

'But I can't just say no to a kiss, can I? I mean, Terra can't actually expect me to...'

"Well, I trust you, at least..." Luna had put her paws on his chest, her nose lightly pressing against his, her eyes looking back at him... It was a romantic sight, if Ris got the message and made a move.

A blush washed over Ris' face. Not that he didn't want to, but...was Terra still around?

"Luna, weren't...we going to talk to Fenrir?" he mumbled, hoping to the heavens that it didn't offend her.

Luna opened her muzzle slightly, shutting her eyes... Before pulling away from him and forcing a smile. "Yeah, sure."

Oh no. Ris had seen that before.

"Luna, don't be like that...Here." Reaching out and taking her hand, the fox said, "We'll go talk to Terra instead--Sort all this out."

"Are you sure you want to hold my hand? I might infect you, or something," Luna replied, just a tad bit sarcastically.

"Oh, shut up." he said with a playful roll of his eyes, giving her a gentle tug as he began to walk towards where he had left the tigress. "You'll see."

"Fine, fine..." Luna followed after him. Eventually, the couple made it to Terra, who was nursing her wound.

The weak tigress picked her head up. "Ah... Luna..."

The lynx looked a little frightened. "Everything... Everything you said is true, isn't it?"

The tigress nodded...

"Terra," Ris began, giving her a light nod, "the three of us need to talk..."

"I agree with you, Ris," Terra said.

"I want to know it all. Who am I, Terra?" Luna asked.

It still hurt the tigress a bit that she didn't refer to her as "Mom".

"I suppose I'll just tell the whole story..." the tigress said, walking over to the wall and sitting down. Her wound starting to drain on her strength.

"Luna, dear... You were born ten years ago. And everything you've heard is true. Fenrir and I, are your parents."

T-ten!?... Luna thought to herself. "B-but, that can't be right! I have memories of me as a little girl."

The tigress offered a laugh. "Haha... I made them myself."

"So Terra, you -were- talking about Luna...I-In your diary, right?"

"Ah, you found that, didn't you?" Terra replied to his question. "Yes, I was. Everything was planned to happen the way it did, before you stepped foot in that throne room."

"What diary?" Luna asked Ris.

With a light nod of understanding, Ris turned his head towards Luna, his tail flicking towards the tigress. "Hers...That's really all I can say about it. Anyway, I'm sure you have more questions, so...go on..."

"S-so, what part of my memories -aren't- fake?" the lynx replied.

The tigress sighed. "Mostly everything up to meeting Ris."

"I don't believe this..." Luna said in depression. "My whole life is a lie?..."

"I'm sorry, honey..." was the only thing Terra could think to say.

The lynx asked, "W-why?..."

"Well, hold on now, Luna..." Ris interjected, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "Just because some of your memories might be fake doesn't mean they're worthless. I mean, they're what makes you...you."

"I didn't make them, though. Someone else basically made me into who I am," Luna replied.

"And what, you don't like who you are?"

"I don't -know- who I am, Ris!" Luna replied, rather harshly.
